Universal Principles Applicable to ADHD clients and non-ADHD clients

 

As an experienced and certified coach in both ADHD and non-ADHD coaching, my commitment is to support you so that you can achieve the goals for which you have come to me for assistance. Together, we will create and work in a safe, warm, confidential and motivating environment; yet you remain as the expert in your life. My job is to respect your rhythm and be with you as long as you need my support. I have lived in different corners of the world and have successfully coached people of different ages and cultures.

What is coaching according to the International Coaching Federation (ICF)?

Coaching is a process that helps you identify your personal and professional goals and supports you in achieving those goals. It is an alliance focused on achieving your goals. The coaching code of ethics consists of respecting and considering the client as the ultimate expert in his/her life and profession while respecting the 11 coaching competencies (SEE:  Let’s Talk Tab) 

 

How do I work

Our first session is dedicated to establishing what you want to be coached in. In other words, we define where you want to put your main focus during the coaching sessions and how/where you see yourself in 6 months.  We call this the “big agenda”. I will explain to you the CTI Model that I use as a framework for my coaching sessions. (See picture beside) I will answer your questions and define our coaching agreement and contract. A few days later, you will receive a copy of our contract and some documentation to complete for the following session. 

The following sessions, because life continue to unfold on its own rhythm, we will address the challenges happening in your life while keeping in mind our big agenda. Human beings easily forget their wins and strengths and focus on their struggles which affect negatively their performance and self-esteem. We will work together to resurrect your strengths and use them as a compass to take us towards building a fulfilling life. 

We all know that making a change happen is challenging; we resist change. I will help you find a way to maintain your motivation, keep your focus, carry out your plan, figure out actions and prioritize them in order to reach your goals without being overwhelmed.

I am committed to create for you a safe space where you can express yourself with authenticity and safety.

In summary, during the coaching sessions, I use methods such as goal setting, prioritizing, planning and scheduling, problem solving, stress management tools, homework and activities to complete for the following sessions. I will ensure that you are always steering toward fulfilment and balance and able to engage in the process of the changes that you want to make happen in your life.

As your coach I will:

  • Hold you accountable for your commitment;
  • Hold you higher than you hold yourself and call you forth with authenticity and Kindness. I believe nothing relationship only truly flourish through compassion, love and kindness. I believe that change can happen when there is kindness, love, care, compassion and understanding;
  • Help you to clarify your goals and achieve the outcome that you have committed to during our previous session;
  • When you feel stagnant, I will guide you to elucidate the elements that stand in your way so that you will move forward;
  • Guide you to maintain hope and progress at your own pace in a safe and caring space;
  • Keep you motivated and focused on achieving you goal. The relationship is entirely focused on getting you results;
  • Be your regular, accountability partner, and we meet every week over ZOOM or in person for a period of 4 to 6 months.
